High-Ends through Scavenging
YouTuber Arekkz now gives us a tip on how to find better loot in The Division. However, he cannot guarantee a specific number of high-end drops within a certain timeframe, nor does he know a location where you can find many high-ends. The tip relies on a passive bonus that you may have overlooked until now.
This bonus is called Scavenging and carries the catchy name “Lumpensammeln” in German. To access it, go to your inventory, then to the “Character” tab and then to the “Exploration” category. Other categories would be, for example, “Primary Attributes,” “Weapons,” or “Combat.” But scroll down to “Exploration.” There you will find “Lumpensammeln.” This bonus increases the chance of finding more and better objects. This applies both inside and outside the Dark Zone.
How do I increase the Scavenging value?
You can increase this passive bonus with armor pieces that raise this value. The higher this value, the better the bonus works. This means for you: a higher chance of high-end drops. If you currently have no equipment at hand that raises the value of this bonus, you can modify the armor pieces at the improvement station. How often do high-ends drop now?
According to Arekkz, there are currently no specific numbers on how the chance for high-ends increases depending on the Scavenging value. He can only speak from his own experience: After increasing his Scavenging value to +104%, his loot has significantly improved. About in the same time frame, after the conscious increase of this value, he received 6 times as many high-end items as before.
The loot is completely random, but with the help of this bonus, you can somewhat force your luck. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee. If you haven’t discovered this bonus yet, you might want to give it a try.
In endgame battles, this bonus shouldn’t be your first choice: here you should rather rely on bonuses that enhance your agent. But to obtain better weapons and gear pieces, “Lumpensammeln” should be worthwhile from time to time. It resembles “Magic Find Gear” from loot-based games.
