The next Global Event still in June 2018. Outbreak returns to The Division and brings modifiers and Classified Sets with it. Here is everything you need to know about “Outbreak” in The Division.
After the release of Patch 1.8.2 during E3 week, people wondered when the Global Event would start. The Global Event is supposed to launch later this month according to the Roadmap for Year 3. This was confirmed today by Massive.
When does the Global Event start?
Although the State of the Game was cancelled, Massive announced via Twitter the Global Event “Outbreak” for next week, June 25.
What is the State of the Game? In the State of the Game, the developers speak directly to the fans, introduce new updates, or address community suggestions.
All info about the Global Event “Outbreak”
During the Outbreak event, specific modifiers are active that affect gameplay. You earn Global Event Credits during certain activities, which you can use to buy containers.
These are the modifiers of the Global Event:
- Outbreak (Always active): Headshot kills temporarily increase headshot damage. Additionally, headshots cause an explosion on enemies: A cloud streams from the heads of the killed enemies and inflicts bleeding on nearby foes.
- Heavy Outbreak (GE leaderboard): Enemies become “toxic” and deal damage over time when they get too close.
- and Critical Outbreak (GE leaderboard): Enemies can be marked with a headshot and then killed directly by another team member with a second headshot. The “Heavy Outbreak” modifier is also active.
What do the Global Event containers contain? Each Global Event has a selection of Classified Sets that have a high chance of being included in the containers during this time. For each set, there is a container that only includes the set it is named after. The Classified containers cost 3000 GE Credits.
An optional container can include all GE Sets. This costs 1500 GE Credits and has an increased chance of yielding a random exotic item.
During Outbreak, these secret gear sets are available:
Additionally, like in every Global Event, you can unlock certain masks.

What do you need to do for these masks? For the
- ABC Protection Mask (Left) you need to achieve 125 marked headshot kills while “Critical Outbreak” is active.
- The Chemist Mask (Middle) you get when you achieve 170 headshot kills with a shotgun while at least “Heavy Outbreak” is active. World Tier 5 and at least one hard difficulty also apply.
- The Gas Mask (Right) only requires killing 50 Cleaner bosses.

What is next?
As of now, Patch 1.8.2 has been the last update for The Division 1. Whether any bug fixes and balancing patches will come is currently unknown, but likely.

What is certain is that all previous Global Events will be repeated in the coming months.
In addition to the Global Events, there will also be the Shield Challenges until the release of The Division 2 on March 15 next year. These achievements will come monthly and provide rewards for both The Division 1 and 2.
All info about the Shields can be found here.

Whether Massive possibly has plans beyond that, we will have to wait.
What about you? Do the Global Events lure you back to Manhattan, or have you had enough of the grind?
