The “PS Plus” members in the Asian region are getting The Division for free in January 2019. The rest of the world feels that they are getting preferential treatment.
Every month, PS Plus members receive free games to download. The games vary by region. This time, Asian players are in luck as they receive The Division from Ubisoft.
Many players from Europe and America are now disappointed with the selection of games available to them. But are we really worse off than the Asians?
These are the games Asia and Europe get on PS Plus in January 2019
There are some differences between the free games in Asia and Europe. While Europeans have a wide selection of games, the Asian market receives only two major games along with themes and soundtracks to download.
This is what Asia gets:
- Tom Clancy’s The Division
- Steep
- Toro Winter (Theme)
- Final Fantasy Sound Selection
This is what Europe gets:
- Steep
- Portal Knights
- Amplitude
- Zone of the Enders HD Edition
- Fallen Legion: Flames of Rebellion
- Super Mutant Alien Assault
This is the crux: Some European players feel that they do not have a comparable substitute for The Division with Portal Knights. Other players say they prefer quantity and are more satisfied with the six free games than with two top titles.
This is what players are saying: On Reddit, this topic is hotly debated. User KXG912 writes: “Man, Asia has now had two good months in a row!” In December, players in Asia received God Eater and Gravity Rush.
Other players even go further and want to get an Asian PS Plus account: “Can we download the PS Plus from Asia?” asks user Schervatsky.
On MeinMMO, user Vesuk painted a similar picture: “The crazy part is that we get Portal Knights and they get The Division.”
The Division 2 has already been announced for March 15, 2019. You can find out how the second part differs from its predecessor here:
