In The Division, we show you tips and tricks on how to tackle the Dragon’s Nest in the heroic difficulty “Heroic”.
In Ubisoft’s MMO shooter, incursions can be played in three different difficulty levels: Hard, Challenging, and Heroic. These differ not only in the strength of the enemies but also in the quality of the rewards. Moreover, the hardest activities usually require different strategies and more teamwork.
For a few days now, the Heroic mode has also been available in the third incursion. The YouTuber Schorri TV presents tips, tricks, and tactics in the video on how to manage the Dragon’s Nest on heroic:
Dragon’s Nest in Heroic Mode
This activity is anything but easy. Even the most experienced and best agents will be challenged by the Dragon’s Nest at the highest difficulty. Especially on the rooftop, the area of the Four Horsemen, you will break a sweat.
Preparation:
- First, you need a strike team of four people with outstanding equipment: Gear Scores over 240 are highly recommended. Also, choose weapons and builds that you are comfortable with. In this guide collection, you’ll find strong weapons and builds.
- An important value in this Cleaners incursion is Resistance to Exotic Damage. However, it would be incorrect to say that with high Exo-Resistance you are protected from flamethrowers: All enemies are at level 35 and can quickly burn you down.
- For skills, 2 to 3 of you should focus on Sticky Grenades with Blinding Effect. Also choose Turret, Electro Turret, and Healing Skills. Furthermore, an agent with the Recovery Set is useful, as explosive and incendiary shots will be helpful.

The Path to the Four Horsemen
The Dragon’s Nest in Heroic Mode also begins with the door opening and you being visited by the Cleaners. There are no cover options, only the escape backwards. To keep the dangerous, flamethrowing enemies at bay, you will use the Sticky Grenades with Blinding Effect and your Electro Turrets here. These skills will control the mobs for you, giving you more time to fill them with bullets. Don’t forget the grenades either. Fight your way forward bravely until you reach the rooftop. This is the hardest part of the incursion. The tactic that we already presented for the challenge mode of Dragon’s Nest will also help you here. However, this time the enemies are significantly stronger.
Before the first shot is fired, sneak up on the enemies from the right. Locate the two engineers who want to drive their fancy electric cars towards you, and eliminate them first. You can recognize them by the wrenches above their heads. Run to the stairs on the other side of the rooftop and barricade yourselves there.
Use the Turret, Healing skills, and brute firepower to save your neck. You will be pursued by melee fighters who need to be taken out as quickly as possible.
From here, you can tactically take down the enemies together by coordinating from which direction they come. But be careful: Enemies will spawn behind you as well. These have the highest priority and must be shot down by all agents.
You must withstand three waves of enemies, with all possible types of enemies appearing, including those with the extremely dangerous toy cars (in the second wave). If you survive this difficult phase, the bosses from this area will come: The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
The Fight Against the Horsemen in Heroic Mode
Schorri’s tactic is: Stay at a distance from the Four Horsemen. You run clockwise around the map, shooting at Death, Famine, Pestilence, and War, and if they get too close, you run a bit further.
However, you don’t completely kill any of them, as otherwise for each Horseman adds will spawn, making your life unnecessarily harder. Weakening all four Horsemen down so you can take them out simultaneously. Now many adds will spawn, but you no longer have to worry about the big bosses, which makes things easier. Stay focused, take them out, and collect your well-deserved loot.
Important Notes:
- While you are running clockwise around the map, a Horseman may cross your path. You can temporarily paralyze this one with the Sticky Grenade with Blinding Effect and pass by him. This method takes some time, but it gets the job done.
- Communication is key. Always coordinate on where the enemies are coming from or who is using the Sticky Grenade. Make clear statements.
- The adds that spawn after the deaths of the four Horsemen are no joke. Watch out for the explosive cars and the melee fighters.
The Fight Against the Firetruck
On the way to the final boss, the Firetruck, you must first fight your way through a corridor. Stay as far back as possible and sniper the enemies out of the way. Be careful: Once you defeat the enemies, more will appear. Among them are flamethrowers and melee fighters.
When fighting the final boss, proceed as you are used to. Especially remember the Post with the Immunizer Mod. With Turret and Triage, you can more or less ride out the fun without much trouble. Two agents will then activate the switches. You give them the survival link on their way. And so the Firetruck is no problem. However, the enemies are stronger than on the other difficulty levels.
