In The Division, an Easter egg was discovered that refers to Bungie’s MMO shooter Destiny.
In The Division, there are numerous Easter eggs, hidden features usually pointing to well-known series and games. Now, clever agents, who apparently also know the existence of a Guardian, have found an Easter egg that clearly refers to Destiny. See for yourself:
Xur in the post-apocalypse of The Division
On a license plate, a reddit user discovered the following inscription: 777 9Xur. You can find the pickup with this plate smoking in Park Ave in Turtle Bay, around the coordinates 1620/2448.
That Xur is a mysterious merchant in Destiny, who awaits his customers with exotic goods every weekend, is likely known to many players who do not fulfill their duties as Guardians every day. The number 9 is also easily explained: Xur is the Agent of the Nine. The signs are piling up that this is no coincidence!
And what about the numbers 777? The number 7 is known as Bungie’s favorite number, especially in the Halo series, this number is encountered frequently. Not without reason is the entire Bungie community referred to as “7th Column”. In Destiny, you encounter 7, for example, in the trophies/achievements: A success is unlocked when you reach 777 Grimoire points.
The situation seems certain that Ubisoft Massive has played a prank by embedding a Destiny Easter egg in their game. The community gratefully picks up this joke and joyfully fantasizes that now all the secrets about Xur have been revealed:
If Xur is not currently in the Tower with his goods, he apparently roams the world of The Division, according to a user. In addition, one should consider that Xur is an agent of the Nine – could “the Nine” be Division agents or another secret organization? At least the color of the pickup fits Xur’s style. Only the extravagant tentacle facial hair cannot be smoothly integrated into the scenario of The Division …
