In The Division, cheaters and hackers are in for a tough time. Massive will crack down hard in the future.
As community developer Yannick Banchereau stated in the latest weekly report, they want to put a stop to the cheaters and hackers. The PC version of The Division has “a lot of problems“. First changes will come with the upcoming April update.
Cheaters will be permanently banned in The Division
Once update 1.1 becomes available to agents, PC players can report cheating in the PC version’s client. To do this, agents must report the cheater’s name so that the team can manually check the complaint.
The cheater will then be excluded from the game without warning for three days if the review confirms the reporter’s suspicion, and will subsequently receive a second chance. If the player abuses this chance to cheat again, a permanent ban will occur.
Manual reviews are necessary to identify and filter out the numerous false reports. They ask that players only report someone when they are really sure that they are cheating. These players might just be using better weapons and armor pieces.
The development team uses both community reports and automated mechanisms to identify cheaters and hackers. They are working on better solutions to efficiently locate and punish these fraudulent agents.
According to Banchereau, there are no cheating issues on the Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
