On the test servers (PTS) of The Division 2, agents can currently try out and test content from Title Update 5. Among them is a feature that many agents have long wished for, namely a flashlight – this time even a real one. We show how to get the flashlight mod there (and soon also on the live servers).
How does the flashlight work in The Division 2? The flashlight in The Division 2 comes in the form of an attachment for pistols. To get this attachment, you first need to find a corresponding blueprint for it and then craft the pistol flashlight mod.
If you’ve accomplished this, you can use the mod, i.e., the flashlight, on pistols with the appropriate mod slot. Simply aim the pistol at the spot or in the direction that needs to be lit up.
By the way, the flashlight mod offers no bonuses except for its lighting effect, unlike laser pointers, which use the same mod slot. It is simply for exploring dark areas of the game world.
How do you get the flashlight mod for pistols? You need a little luck and possibly some patience.
In the open world, you’ll occasionally encounter enemy groups with an elite enemy equipped with a chainsaw. This is the one you need to kill. He will then drop the blueprint for this mod for you.
You can encounter these enemy groups anywhere in the game world, but the chances are said to be highest in the sewers of Washington D.C.
So find the next access to the underground on the map and search the drainage channels for these enemies. According to user reports, you should be able to find them pretty quickly in the sewer, especially in the large main rooms. Outside of the sewer, it may take quite a while.

What’s the deal with the flashlight? The agents in The Division 2 are well-trained professionals with the latest equipment, but one thing Massive forgot to provide them with – a reliable light source for dark times.
Because post-apocalyptic Washington D.C. can be extremely dark in places, especially at night and in gloomy parts of buildings or underground passages with no light or electricity. A major wish of the player community was thus a flashlight so they can navigate better in the dark and not overlook important things.
While they accommodated fans with a first solution in the form of a backpack attachment, a proper lamp that can be used deliberately is still pending in the live game.
With Title Update 5, however, it is supposed to find its way into the game soon. Thanks to the test servers on PC, we now also know how to get it. Once the game goes live, all agents on the live servers will be able to receive the flashlight this way.
When will the feature be available on the live servers? Until July 10, the contents of Title Update 5 and thus the flashlight will be extensively tested on the PTS. After that, it shouldn’t be long before the content also finds its way to the live servers of PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Title Update 5 is supposed to be released in July, probably shortly after the end of the testing phase on the PTS. There, the lamp should also be obtainable in the same way. If necessary, we will adjust the article accordingly.
