The preload for The Division 2 has already started for many agents. This shows different download sizes for PS4 and Xbox One.
Update 9.3.: Now there is official information available.
- Preload is running on Xbox One and PC (almost 43 GB)
- On PS4, the preload runs for everyone who pre-ordered a special edition (almost 90 GB)
- On PS4, the preload for those with the standard edition will start on March 11 at 12:01 AM.

Where does the information come from? Official information about the preload has not yet been published by Massive, but reports on reddit and in the German “The Division” Facebook group have recently started to accumulate, indicating that the preload for The Division 2 can already be started.
On which platforms is the preload running? There are proof images for PS4 online, and users report that the download is also running on Xbox One. Update: Information about the PC version is now also available.

- On PS4, you need to download almost 90 GB. That is quite a lot.
- On Xbox One, 42.3 GB is being mentioned.
- The preload on PC is said to be available via Uplay. It is 42.88 GB large.
On reddit, people are discussing how the GB differences between PS4 and Xbox One arise, and whether the nearly 90 GB can really be correct. After all, it is stated in the PSN store that 45 GB are required for The Division 2.
However, several users have posted images showing almost 90 GB on PS4. It is possible that the “copying process” of the PlayStation requires twice the amount of GB to be downloaded.
Some agents are also writing that they cannot find the preload in the PSN. Apparently, it could be started for some users through the library on PS4. For others, the preload started automatically.

Why is there a preload for The Division 2 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC?
Many agents buy The Division 2 digitally. This means they first need to download and install a large amount of game data before they can play the game.
So that you can start immediately as soon as the servers go online, a preload is available. This is a pre-download to download the game data early.
