At The Division 2 there are unscheduled maintenance works today, on March 3rd. The servers will also go offline for some time. In this context, Massive apparently wants to fix the biggest issues of the Warlords expansion such as the NPC bug or the ECHO errors. We show how the maintenance proceeds and take a look at possible changes.
UPDATE 11:00 AM: The maintenance at The Division 2 has been completed faster than expected, the servers should now be available again. They are already back online on PS4.
By the way: The annoying NPC bug, which prevented interaction with community leaders, has apparently been fixed.
This is how the launch of Warlords of New York went: Yesterday, on March 2nd, the new release of Title Update 8 marked the launch of the new expansion “Warlords of New York” for The Division 2 – regularly on PC and early on PS4 and Xbox One.
Many jumped straight into the new content, but not everyone could play or progress. Some annoying bugs and issues ruined the launch of the new expansion for numerous players.
How The Division 2 has changed with the new update: Long patch notes for The Division 2 show: This is all new when you start
What problems were there? While the launch went smoothly for some players, many agents couldn’t even get into the game. Instead, there were just various ECHO or other error codes.
But even for those who made it into the game, not everything was smooth. Some could not get past the introductory mission of Warlords due to bugs. Others found themselves hopelessly stuck in a church after the intro was interrupted. Yet others could not progress in the first mission with an NPC because they could not interact with him.
But hopefully, all of this will come to an end soon.
Everything about the unscheduled maintenance and server status at The Division 2 on 03.03.
What is the maintenance about? The developers at Massive noted yesterday that they are aware of the problems and are feverishly working on a solution. This morning it seems to be the time – the annoying bugs are apparently supposed to be fixed.
This is how the maintenance proceeds – these times are important today: If everything goes according to plan, you can expect the following schedule today:
- The maintenance begins at 9:30 AM German time
- Then the downtime begins, the servers go offline
- Around 12:30 PM the servers should be back online, the server downtime ends
- Thus, the maintenance should also end
- You will not be able to play The Division 2 for approximately 3 hours today
What changes? The patch notes: Official patch notes are not yet available, but Massive has already revealed what they are currently working on.
Note: Although they are working intensively on all the following points, the developers were not sure whether all of these or which ones will make it into today’s update.
The following things could change due to today’s maintenance:
- A bug currently prevents the mission “Reach the City Hall” from updating correctly, which teleports players to the wrong location. This is supposed to be fixed.
- If the helicopter cinematic is interrupted, it may happen that you get teleported to Trinity Church and get stuck there. This is supposed to be fixed.
- Currently, it often occurs that players cannot interact with community leaders (NPCs) as intended within the Warlords missions, preventing progress in the missions. This bug is at the top of the priority list and is supposed to be fixed.
- Further improvements are to be made to prevent the occurrence of ECHO errors (ECHO-02, ECHO-07).
