The Division 2 received an additional exotic armor piece with Title Update 6 – “Sawyer’s Kneepads.” Learn here how to obtain the new impulse pads and what operational possibilities this high-tech piece offers.
What kind of exo is it? The new exo piece “Sawyer’s Kneepads” was already available on the test servers (PTS) for Title Update 6 and created quite a bit of confusion among the “Black Tusk” enemies during some invasion missions.
The kneepads activate a strong disruption impulse during cover movements and reliably disable electrical devices and intrusive enemies nearby.
Sawyer’s Kneepads effectively destroy enemy skills
Now the protectors with built-in EMP are also available on the live servers, and we show you how to acquire the third exotic armor piece.
Exo not tied to a quest
How do I get the kneepads? Unlike some other exotic items that require a long quest line or a dinner with bandits, “Sawyer’s Kneepads” are relatively easy to obtain. Once you reach max level, they become part of your personal exotic loot pool.
Since the namesake Odessa Sawyer is part of the “Division,” the kneepads are also not tied to a specific faction. To have a high chance of getting the kneepads, you can complete the following activities:
- Challenging missions
- Heroic missions
- Higher difficulty activities
- Targeted loot areas with kneepads
Big bosses are the main source
Here are the highest chances: Most reports of drops come from the big named bosses in missions with the highest difficulty levels. This is not too surprising, as these enemies have an increased chance of dropping exotic items.
Besides the high-ranking bosses, lower NPCs can also drop the exotic armor piece, but the chance is significantly lower.
These are the exo talents
- Short Circuit
- +80% charge speed of the disruption impulse
- First Wave Technology
- Disruption effects now destroy enemy skill helpers. If you stay in cover for at least 4 seconds, you receive the buff “Exemplary Leadership”.
- Exemplary Leadership
- 50% bonus armor when performing a cover-to-cover movement.
- If the distance covered during the movement is at least 8 meters, all enemies within 10 meters are disrupted. Additionally, you gain 10% (PvP 4%) bonus armor for each blue armor attribute in the build, for 4 seconds.
- The disruption occurs one second after the movement ends
What do the talents look like in action? This video, while still from the test servers, already shows the devastating effect of the talents on skill helpers and enemies.
Once the enemies deploy their drones, you can already start making your way and don’t have to worry about the pesky devices anymore. Additionally, the EMP also disrupts nearby enemies and robots, allowing you to deal a lot of damage before you get shot yourself.
