In a new trailer, The Division 2 has finally announced the launch of the 1st raid, Operation Dark Hours, for 8 players. It starts in April. But that’s not all: new exotics, a specialization, and much more are coming in the next weeks.
When does the raid start? Operation Dark Hours, as the name of the raid, will be released on April 25. The trailer also reveals that this raid is part of a large multi-part update called Invasion: Battle for D.C.
“Invasion: Battle for D.C.” also includes the update with Tidal Basin and world tier 5, which comes to The Division 2 tomorrow on April 5.
A new specialization is coming
What else does the trailer reveal? The new information also includes that a new PvP map is included in Tidal Basin.
Additionally, a new specialization for The Division 2 is coming.
Invasion: 3 updates for The Division 2
What’s included in the three-part update:
- First, on April 5, Tidal Basin including the 5th world tier goes online. Part of the update will also include 3 gear sets and weekly invasions. Also coming are 2 new exotic weapons, Pestilence (LMG) and Nemesis (Sniper Rifle), and a new PvP map “Fort McNair”.
- On April 25, the raid Operation: Dark Hours will follow. 8 players will storm the Ronald Reagan International Airport in this raid and must face several challenges.
- The third part of the update includes a specialization with a new, unique weapon. This is, as some have already suspected, a minigun. No date is known yet.

Starting April 5, the Invasion Apparel Event will also take place. There will be new, special containers with new cosmetic items. The event runs until May 2. You can find all the information about the update in our summary.
What do we know so far about the raid? There is hardly any official information available. It is only known that the raid requires 8 players and that the agents should really challenge them.
Additionally, it is reminiscent of raids from classic MMORPGs. A leak about the raid in The Division 2 shows how extensive the airport could be as a raid.
