Since the release of The Division, the State of the Game takes place on Thursday. The 100th edition of the format is canceled this week. Fans are waiting for information about the June Patch 1.8.2.
Why is the stream canceled? The reason for the cancellation is the community’s criticism that the “State of the Game” stream often provides no useful information. It creates false hopes for news. Massive took the criticism to heart and will now only hold the STOG if there are any concrete news to deliver.
As the Delta error from last week no longer seems to be an issue, there is nothing to show this week, and therefore no live stream.
Blackout will run until May 7, as it was extended by one week due to prolonged server issues.
When will info about the new patch come?
What fans can expect in the next patch: According to the roadmap for year 3, Patch 1.8.2 is set to arrive in June and will include the Global Event, “Onslaught”, as well as the mysterious Shields. These are said to be achievements whose completion will unlock bonuses for The Division 2.
Massive may be holding back more information until the 100th edition of the State of the Game, as it could be a sort of anniversary.
Timing-wise, a month beforehand would certainly be fitting. After all, the test servers will likely be used again to prepare the new patch for the live game.
On these “PTS”, players can thoroughly test the new features and thus provide Massive with valuable feedback. However, it is still unknown whether they will even go online with the new patch.
