Two weeks ago, Arrowhead, the studio behind Helldivers 2, went on vacation. Now they are back, but during their absence, outrage has spread among the brave soldiers of Super Earth.
What are the players complaining about? According to many fans, Helldivers 2 is currently in poor technical condition. They say the game is plagued by many bugs – not just those that can be wiped out with a flamethrower.
One of the recent patches introduced a bug that renders a weapon useless in Helldivers 2 – and this just before the development team went on vacation. The weapon has been broken for two weeks now.
Furthermore, the game’s performance is getting worse over time. A Reddit user shares: “I could run release version 120FPS 4k…now it`s 70-90ish”

Developers vow to improve, fans remain skeptical
How are the developers reacting? The developers are now back from vacation and are literally facing a burning store. Shams Jorjani, CEO of Arrowhead, reached out to the loyal fighters of Super Earth on Discord.
On Discord, Jorjani apologizes for the inconveniences. He explains that they will be “focusing 100% on bug fixing and optimization” and adds: “We know the game isn’t in tip top shape right now.” (via GamesRadar+)
However, so far it seems that the developers’ reaction alone cannot quell the discontent:
- ““Tip top shape” is putting it real gentle. The game is so insanely fucking broken, there’s at least one notable problem with every aspect of it, from the weapons to the audio to the graphics to the mechanics. It’s in deep. Admit it,” writes a user on Reddit
- “I’m having f*cking deja Vu or going insane hasn’t this exact thing been happening during their last year holiday?” asks another user on Reddit
- “Talk is cheap. I’ll believe it when I see it,” responds another user on Reddit.
