In ARC Raiders there is a trap for players who are particularly curious. But with some skill, you can survive the developers’ trick.
What kind of trap is it? In ARC Raiders, there are various loot areas. On the map “Dam-Battlefields,” one of these areas is the so-called Control Tower. There you will find items of the classes “Industry” and “Security.”
Inside the Control Tower, you can find an elevator shaft that brings you up to the roof of the building using a zipline and subsequent stair steps. However, there awaits the developers’ trap.
On the west side of the building, there is a ladder that seemingly allows you to reach a lower floor – and there could be loot waiting. But the ladder ends abruptly, with no ground underfoot. Curious Raiders simply fall to their death, as demonstrated by Twitch streamer Timmy2Cans in a TikTok clip.
Ladder becomes a skill check with loot as a reward
Not just trolling by the developers: The ladder actually has another purpose besides sending curious Raiders to their death.
If you descend the ladder almost to the bottom and bravely take the leap, you can grab onto a ledge and pull yourself up, which actually leads to another floor. If you walk along the outside of the building on the newly reached level, you will come to an open window that leads into the building.
Is the risk of the jump worth it? Yes, definitely. Through the open window, you enter a room in the tower that is usually locked, where there is often valuable loot – provided you have the right key with you.
The required key is of epic rarity and thus not so easy to obtain. If you dare the jump from the ladder and successfully complete the mini-skill check, you can enter the room even without the key – especially useful in raids with a free loadout.
