With The Darwin Project, Microsoft announced at E3 an exclusive multiplayer action game for the Xbox One that is reminiscent of the “Hunger Games” film series. Such battle royale games are currently on the rise, thanks to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
Battle Royale is in, as the surprise hit Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds shows. Since Microsoft also wants to get involved in this segment, the Xbox One exclusive multiplayer game The Darwin Project has now been announced. In the game, you compete against your fellow players on a battlefield and must use the environment and your skills to emerge as the victor and survivor from the match.
Heroes with different abilities
At E3, a snowy landscape was shown that served as an arena. Additionally, the developers introduced some of the special abilities that the characters possess.
One could deflect an arrow with a type of shield, another was able to camouflage. This promises exciting multiplayer battles. As for the story: The Earth is on the brink of the next ice age, and to prepare humanity for it, the “Darwin Project” was initiated.
Survive thanks to nasty traps
You must try to survive in the icy landscape of the Rocky Mountains while also defending against others who, like you, are fighting for the last resources.
You face both the inhospitable weather conditions and other players. You do this by setting traps and luring your enemies into them or ordering an airstrike. Additionally, you can unlock new ways to defeat your enemies over time.
The comic graphics are meant to exude a special atmosphere. A release date has not yet been announced.

Battle royale games are currently very well received. With a focus on e-sports, The Darwin Project could indeed become successful. The comic graphics are, of course, a matter of taste, but as long as the gameplay is solid, the visuals are not the decisive factor. All fans of battle royale games can look forward to The Darwin Project.
