The mangaka of Jujutsu Kaisen, Gege Akutami, was determined to finish his work by 2024. The creator of One Piece helped him with this. Since then, Akutami has been thinking about how he can repay the help. Now the big opportunity has come.
What kind of help was that? Gege Akutami aimed to finish the story of Jujutsu Kaisen in 2024. For this, the mangaka even sacrificed an epilogue and completed his work right in the arc he was in at the time.
But as he now recounts, he had difficulties finishing Jujutsu Kaisen by 2024. His health is said to have deteriorated drastically in the last arcs. He even had to go to the hospital for an appendectomy (seen on X.com).
But then Eiichiro Oda, the mangaka of One Piece, came to his aid:
Near the end of the publication of Jujutsu Kaisen, I became ill and found myself in a desperate situation. Oda-sensei was kind enough to introduce me to a hospital. After I fully recovered and completed the series publication, I wanted to express my gratitude, but I couldn’t think of a suitable gift. After some twists, I decided to repay through my work.

Thanks to Oda, Akutami could recover quickly and finish his manga. After that, he wanted to thank his colleague. Only now did he get the chance to do so – with his drawings.

How did he repay? Gege Akutami helped One Piece with his drawings. He illustrated the Five Elders in their transformed form for the One Piece trading card game. Anyone familiar with the Jujutsu Kaisen manga might even recognize that the images bear his signature style.
You can see the cards in the following Reddit post:
According to the post, Akutami was happy that he could draw Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro. This is the bony horse on page 2 of the Reddit post, specifically the image in the upper right corner.
According to the author, the color combination had already been predetermined. He was overwhelmed, as it was refreshing to use a color scheme he himself would never have thought of. And we think the images turned out great!
The manga of Jujutsu Kaisen was completed on time thanks to help with the hospital choice. The anime, on the other hand, is still in progress. Next up is the 3rd season. You can find out about it on MeinMMO: Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3: Release, trailer, and leaks of the anime at a glance
