The author of a popular animated series is well-versed in superheroes. He has a clear opinion on whether his own hero could take on Superman from DC Comics.
What series is it about? Invincible is an animated series running on Amazon Prime Video and has received very good ratings. It currently has 3 seasons with a total of 25 episodes, with a fourth and fifth season already announced.
The series is based on the comic series of the same name by Robert Kirkman and tells the story of Mark Grayson, a boy whose father Nolan, as Omni-Man, is one of the strongest superheroes around. When Mark turns seventeen, he gains his own superpowers.
As is often the case with strong heroes like Omni-Man, the question arises of how powerful he is compared to other characters. Big names are not shied away from, and none other than Robert Kirkman himself has entered the discussion.
He compares his Omni-Man to one of the strongest heroes that exist in the world of comics: Superman. This was initially even a role model for Omni-Man.
For Kirkman, the case is clear
What does Kirkman say? The author spoke at this year’s Comic-Con in New York with Collider about this topic and came to a hard conclusion. On the one hand, he casually made an assessment of Homelander from the series The Boys, who according to Kirk is a “weakling.” On the other hand, the author also has a clear opinion about Superman:
Superman sucks. Omni-Man easily defeats him. I have said this before. Every time I say this, a lot of Superman fans, if you can believe that such a thing exists, crawl out of their holes and attack me online as if I said something that is not definitely and indisputably true. But Omni-Man would completely annihilate this guy.

Furthermore, Kirk described some feats of Superman, such as that he can move a planet. The author then speculated whether Omni-Man could also accomplish that, referring to season 4. This is expected to be available to fans in March 2026 and might contain a similarly powerful feat from Omni-Man.
Although Kirk thinks Superman is “absolute trash,” he found something to enjoy in James Gunn’s current film: “James Gunn’s film was excellent,” he said at Comic-Con.
What do you think: Would Omni-Man have a chance against Superman? That the two would ever meet and there would be a fight is unfortunately unlikely.
