Helldivers 2 was initially released only for PC and PS5, but soon the exclusivity will end. The head of the co-op shooter is also bringing his democracy to Xbox players, but you will have to wait a little longer.
When will Helldivers 2 launch on Xbox? In a short stream on YouTube, former CEO of Arrowhead, Johan Pilestedt, reached out to his Helldivers with an urgent message. He joyfully announced that Über-Earth will soon have more soldiers available, as Xbox players will be able to play Helldivers 2 starting August 26.
The game can already be pre-ordered on the official Xbox page of Helldivers 2 (Source: news.xbox.com). However, to play the game, fans will need an internet connection and a valid online membership.

Why is this a reason to celebrate? Helldivers 2 is the game of togetherness. Many soldiers have friends and family who play on other platforms. If you have someone who only plays on Xbox, you couldn’t play with them before. Many players have therefore tried for over a year to convince Arrowhead to port the game to Xbox as well.
The interesting thing is that Helldivers 2 was never marketed as an exclusive title, but simply the Xbox platform was never considered. Arrowhead is known for engaging closely with the community to work together on the shooter to deliver a strong gaming outcome.
This port is no exception. It remains to be seen what the small studio in Sweden has planned for the future, but with the new platform also come new challenges for players.
Head calls for the help of all Helldivers: In the stream, Pilestedt addressed the veterans of Über-Earth and requested that they lend a helping hand to new players to ensure democracy is protected even better than it already is.
