Guild Wars 2 even managed to establish itself with PvP in eSports. There were regular tournaments and championships held as part of the ESL, where participants could even win prizes. However, the ESL closed the Guild Wars 2 Pro League some time ago. Of course, it is still possible to participate in PvP in the game. In PvP, players compete against each other in special arenas to achieve victory for their team in various game modes (Conquest, Team Deathmatch, Fortress).
A special feature of PvP in Guild Wars 2 is WvW, a completely different type of player versus player combat. In this mode, fighters from different servers (worlds) battle each other on large maps to determine which server has the best PvP players. It’s all about strategy and mass battles. WvW is reminiscent of the genre classic Dark Age of Camelot.
