The space MMO EVE Online essentially thrives on PvP, which is a crucial aspect and affects the entire game. Those who venture out of safe areas must expect to be ambushed by other players. This is especially interesting during transports. In EVE Online, there is open PvP that does not take place in specific arenas, but (almost) everywhere in the game world.
The PvP in EVE Online also frequently leads to gigantic battles involving thousands of players. These battles are often preceded by “political” disputes in forums about the game or personal conflicts. Diplomacy is as much a part of PvP in EVE Online as piloting and firing the space cruisers.
