The survival MMO Ark: Survival Evolved is now available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It is still in early access on PS4 and Xbox One, but it is fully playable.

Ark – survival of the smartest

Ark is at its core a “Robinson Crusoe” story, like the one with Tom Hanks and the volleyball.  The player starts with nothing but carries the knowledge within to build a civilization.

The simplest needs for warmth, drinking, food, and a roof over one’s head must be met until the player can create increasingly powerful tools to dominate the world.

The special twist in Ark: The world is filled with primitive dinosaurs. Carnivores and herbivores that players can tame and use for a variety of tasks.

Building bases, breeding dinosaurs, crafting, and recipes dominate this part of the survival MMO.

Dino vs. Dino – PvP can be ruthless

Another strong aspect of Ark is the fighting against other “Robinson Crusoes” who find themselves in the same situation as the player’s character.

Ark is therefore also designed as a PvP shooter. There are modes where players start on a massive island but are pushed further into the center of the map by death zones, leading to a final battle. Like in the movies about The Hunger Games.

The resources and dinosaurs collected so far are then thrown into battle against each other until only the strongest survives.

Ark Survival Evolved is versatile

Ark is a versatile game. On one side, guilds build communities, entire cities, experimenting with dinosaurs and the ever-evolving possibilities the game offers. Ark is continuously developed by Studio Wildcard in collaboration with players.
