We have compiled the best games on Metacritic from the last 5 years in a list. For each year, we selected the top game based on the metascore and presented it here.
What criterion was used for the selection? We used Metacritic’s search algorithm to identify the respective top games of a year. All platforms were included in the selection. We noted which version performed best on Metacritic for each title.
For each featured title, there is a description and a trailer. Additionally, we provide points that speak for or against a game and explain for whom the game might be particularly suitable.
2022: Portal Companion Collection

The Portal Companion Collection includes the two games Portal and Portal 2 and was released exclusively on the Switch. However, you can also get both parts for PC.
The games revolve around spatial thinking, “in portals.” You must strategically place the passages using the “Portal Guns” in the rooms to reach the exit. However, you will be challenged by one obstacle or another that you must cleverly overcome.
In Portal 2, you can play together with another person and double the number of portals to solve tricky puzzles.
