If you’re wondering if a number is missing – it is! Football Manager 2025 was postponed twice and then completely canceled. The developers were unhappy with the state of the game, and pre-order customers received their money back.

Football Manager becomes even more tactical, fans rejoice
What new features have been announced? One feature fans have frequently asked for are separate player roles and formations – depending on whether you or your opponent is in possession of the ball.
- If your team plays in a 4-3-3 formation while in possession of the ball, the game might suggest a 4-1-4-1 formation when out of possession. The decision, however, ultimately lies with you.
Moreover, the tactics menu has been revamped to give players more tactical control. Player roles have also been overhauled, and some new ones added. An overview of all newly announced features can be found on www.footballmanager.com.
