8. Jared Leto
Appearances: 2016 in Suicide Squad
Jared Leto is one of the most hated Jokers, yet he has been popular among many people. Especially at the release of the film, there was a certain hype around him. Unfortunately, he never truly embodies the Joker in the film. He comes across more like a gangster who wishes he were the Joker.
The biggest issue with Jared Leto is that he doesn’t get much to do. The concept of the Joker works in interaction with Batman, and that does not happen here. However, his design is quite striking, whether one likes it or not.
7. Cesar Romero
Appearances: Between 1966 and 1968 in the Batman series
Cesar Romero is quite silly, much like the entire series. It was a time when comics were in a child-friendly phase and had to always teach a lesson. He didn’t even shave his mustache for his make-up.
But he is the perfect Joker for Adam West’s Batman. He exudes a certain ridiculousness that one expects from clichéd clowns and cartoons. He is by no means the best Joker, but he is probably the best clown on this list.
