How was the selection made? This list includes monsters that are particularly creepy and grotesque, whether through their appearance, their abilities, or both together. Besides other well-known monsters like the Beholder or Mind Flayer, the monsters on this list are not selected based on their strength or fame – but by their ability to create absolute horror.

Chattering Hundred-Mouth

Chattering Hundred-Mouths are viscous masses made from the remains of their victims, equipped with multiple eyes, mouths, and teeth. They scream incessantly and utter only utter nonsense. Furthermore, each mouth comes from a different victim. Thus, there are multiple voices at once, providing no rest.
One Hundred-Mouth is only silent when devouring another victim. Its sole goal is to seek out and devour any creature that comes too close.
