What is Vecna? Ironically, the number 1 on this list is originally not from the Upside Down. Vecna was once a human who had contact with Dimension X. Through this, he gained powers and ended up in the lab in Hawkins. During a fight with El, she sent him into the Upside Down, where he transformed into the monster. The relationship between Vecna and the Mind Flayer is not entirely clear, at least whether someone controls the other. However, through the collective consciousness, the two monsters are connected, and due to his intelligence, Vecna is a dangerous opponent, as he has specific goals and works towards them.
Vecna himself has similar powers to El and can use telepathy to look into the thoughts of other humans. He can see their fears and emotions and use them against them. According to his own statements, Vecna becomes stronger with each victim, and as we know from the end of Season 4, he can also regenerate.
Like all beings from the Upside Down, he also has weaknesses. These include the collective consciousness, which also causes him pain when another being suffers damage. Additionally, one can counter him with willpower.
Due to his human intelligence and concrete goals, he ranks number 1 on our list, but the Mind Flayer also deserves it. Ultimately, Season 5 of the series will show who is more dangerous between the two.
