The “Warforged” from Dungeons & Dragons Online
Developer: Turbine | Platform: PC | Release Date: March 23, 2006 | Payment Model: Free2Play (since August 2010) | Status: Still active
What kind of race is this? The so-called “Warforged” are actually living war machines that were once created by powerful wizards and craftsmen to fight all enemies without fear, hunger, fatigue, or other negative factors.
When the war was over, they had to find a place for themselves in the world and a unique identity. This transformation into sentient individuals accompanies all “Warforged,” just like the prejudices that other races have about the machines made of metal, wood, and stone.
Lacking social upbringing, “Warforged” are heavily influenced by external factors and personal experiences. They adapt the behavior of others but are often very focused on task completion and strict adherence to law and order.
What do I need to know about the game? The Free2Play MMORPG was released on March 23, 2006, and relies on the popular ruleset of Dungeons & Dragons. Unlike many other genre representatives, you will not find a vast, interconnected world here, but rather a regular visit to numerous dungeons filled with monsters, traps, puzzles, and loot.
The dungeons and raids are designed for groups of 6 or 12 players. For character creation, you have available 8 races and 13 classes that you can level up to the maximum level of 20. In our ranking of MMORPGs from the big franchises, DDO landed in 8th place.
