The normal version of the Kraken is described by the developers as the “protector and beacon” of freedom. It is meant to protect those citizens who cannot protect themselves. Due to its enormous size and armament, it can take on the worst enemies in the universe.
The Kraken offers enough storage space to transport other ships, repair them, or refuel them. The light transport ship is currently not available in the Star Citizen shop. It is presently in the concept phase. The last update apparently happened five months ago.
Rank 3: Kraken Privateer

The Privateer version of the Kraken is a little more expensive, offers significantly less storage space, and has a special perk: space for 10 shops, including a public and a private market. All of that takes up space, of course. In terms of armament and the parameters of the spaceship, the Kraken and Kraken Privateer are identical.
The Kraken can transport smaller ships and repair as well as refuel them. Similar to the Kraken, the Privateer version is also currently unavailable in the shop. The ship is said to still be in the concept phase. The last update was apparently five months ago.
