Rolling Chaos in the Liberation of Lorenhall
The Liberation of Lorenhall is currently the latest raid in World of Warcraft and has already produced one of the most interesting mechanics – even though it is considered one of the hardest bosses of all time. Stix Kojenschrotter is the junk master of Lorenhall and works at a landfill.
During the fight, the characters must regularly help him – albeit rather involuntarily. About once a minute, some characters are randomly selected and placed on rolling junk balls. With these balls, you now have to roll over smaller piles of junk to make the ball bigger. Once it reaches a certain size, larger junk piles follow. Once the ball has become huge, you can either steer it into the boss to deal high damage or into a thick bomb to defuse it.
As the difficulty increases, this task becomes increasingly complex. Because in addition, you can also roll over enemies and temporarily trap them in the ball. Also, you should not run over allies as they will be stunned and take moderate damage.
As if all that is not enough, there are also crabs with bombs on their backs. You must definitely not run over these, as the crab bomb will explode and likely kill the raid.
And to make it even more interesting, different ball characters can collide with each other, which sends both balls in different directions – and you’d better pray that there’s no crab bomb in the way.
A very chaotic but also very fun fight that requires good observation, planning ahead, and quick reactions. From everyone.
