1. Dormammu
First appearance: Doctor Strange (2016)
Who is Dormammu? Dormammu is likely the most powerful being seen in the MCU alongside Arishem. He is the ruler of the Dark Dimension and an entity that exists outside of a universe. His goal is to conquer all universes and planets. Within his existence, he has already absorbed several universes.
Dormammu is virtually unbeatable, and Doctor Strange could only stop him by trapping him in a time loop. To free himself, he agreed to Doctor Strange to leave Earth and the universe. The Dark Dimension does not have a sense of time like reality. Strange was able to use this to his advantage.
As long as Dormammu is in the Dark Dimension, not even Arishem could defeat him. The only way to stop Dormammu was to outsmart him by manipulating time. On the other hand, it would be difficult for Dormammu to defeat Arishem. Due to his independence from solid universes and the knowledge that he has absorbed other universes, we have placed independence at the top of the list.
What abilities does Dormammu have? As the master of the Dark Dimension, he can do virtually anything he wants there. He existed before time and is independent of it in this dimension.
- Through the Dark Dimension, he is immortal since it exists independently of space and time
- He can manipulate and generate magical energy
- Telekinesis
- He can grant powers to other beings that make them as strong as the Ancient One who trained Doctor Strange
- In the Dark Dimension, he has control over everything, and Strange could only outsmart him because he knew how it works (via Marvel Cinematic Universe Wiki)
