Rank 2: The Invisible
We have already established how incredibly powerful higher vampires are in The Witcher. But there is a vampire that even higher vampires fear: the Elder of the Invisible, also simply known as the Invisible. Basically, he himself is a higher vampire, but significantly older than all other known counterparts. A vampire’s power is directly related to its age. The older, the more powerful. This creates a strictly hierarchical system to which all vampires are subordinate.
Since the conjunction of the spheres, over 1500 years before Geralt’s time, the Invisible has dwelled in a cave in Toussaint. All vampires in this region are subject to and fear him. He is extremely territorial and slaughters any intruders who come too close.
In The Witcher 3, we can visit the Invisible, but we only survive if we can appease him. If it comes to a fight – if one can even call it that – Geralt will be wiped away in mere seconds.
