Position 8: Frank and Alice Longbottom
Frank and Alice Longbottom are the parents of Neville. They were not only both Aurors but also members of the first Order of the Phoenix. They fought against Voldemort’s reign of terror and had to pay a terrible price for it. Since the Death Eaters believed that Frank and Alice knew the whereabouts of their fallen Dark Lord, they tortured the two Aurors into insanity. Of course, this was primarily the responsibility of Bellatrix Lestrange.
In the books, we unfortunately only get to know Frank and Alice after their sad fate. However, they were extraordinarily talented wizards who enjoyed high esteem in the wizarding community at the height of their powers. They certainly deserve a place on this list.
