This series just recently won several Emmys, including the award for Best Limited Series. This honors one of the major series events of this year, telling the story of a 13-year-old who is accused of murdering a classmate.
In the four episodes, which were filmed in one continuous shot without cuts, important themes such as toxic masculinity are addressed. It’s less about the question of whether someone is a murderer but what could drive them to it. On Rotten Tomatoes, critics celebrate the series with 98%, while users give it 74%. Adolescence has had to face criticism, to which the creator has responded.
