Once again dystopian, although also much more humorous, Don’t Look Up deals with the issue. An asteroid threatens the earth and thus the existence of humanity. At least that is what two scientists, played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, think. Unfortunately, almost no one else is interested in their urgent warnings. Therefore, they make great efforts to ensure they are heard, especially through the media.
The film by director Adam McKay features many well-known stars; alongside the main actors, Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill, or Timothée Chalamet also appear in the story. Critics praise this point and give it 56% on Rotten Tomatoes, but criticize that the satire does not always hit the mark with its jokes. Users like the mix of humor and actually tragic premise and give it 78%.
