What was the list based on? MeinMMO only considered series and no movies that are anime and produced in Japan for the following list. The decisive factor is the budget per episode, not the total costs of the anime. Therefore, long-running series like One Piece or Detective Conan are not included because their budget per episode is lower.
Only animes were considered for which the budget is known. For example, there has been a rumor for a while that an episode of Death Note cost around 1 million euros. However, this figure cannot be confirmed anywhere. There was likely a mix-up with the action film of the same name.
In this article, we list the places 6-10 with the budget per episode. We will present places 1-5 to you in more detail.
