In the Witcher universe, there are many different types of vampires. Among the most powerful are the so-called Bruxae. Their natural form is that of a large bat with dangerously sharp fangs. However, they can take the appearance of a human, usually that of a dark-haired woman.
In battle, Bruxae are tough opponents, even for a witcher. They possess superhuman strength and speed. Additionally, they can make themselves invisible and use sound as a weapon.
Outside of combat, Bruxae are quite unpleasant characters. With their shrill song, they can manipulate people and give them terrible nightmares.
Unlike most other lower vampire species, Bruxae are not affected by sunlight. However, like vampires, they are out to drink their opponents’ blood. Therefore, they can be outsmarted with the potion “Black Blood.” When a witcher drinks this mixture, their blood becomes deadly to most vampires.
