Professional Quidditch players are at least as popular and well-known in the wizarding world as successful football players are among us. However, a career as a professional athlete is not easy and carries a certain risk of injury, even in normal sports. This is, however, nothing compared to the dangers of Quidditch, where players can be literally knocked off their brooms by the magically enchanted “Bludgers”.
Additionally, Quidditch games can last an incredibly long time. The longest game ever supposedly lasted 3 months. During one game, there were reportedly over 700 different fouls. That certainly sounds anything but safe.
