The game that is extremely popular in China! Arena of Valor is the local name for the immensely successful mobile MOBA Kings of Glory. In the East, the game was so successful that young people exaggeratedly played it.
Therefore, the Chinese government has already taken action in China and made publisher Tencent implement strict playtime limits in the China version of Arena of Valor.
The gameplay of Arena of Valor is somewhat similar to common PC MOBAs like League of Legends or Heroes of the Storm. After all, the LoL developer studio Riot Games also belongs to Tencent. The control via touchscreen works intuitively and effectively. Even targeted skill shots are not a problem.
Top game modes for the lunch break
This is how fast rounds run in Arena of Valor: A round in LoL usually lasts between 20 and 40 minutes. Often it takes even longer. In Arena of Valor, everything runs much faster. Therefore, the various game modes last on average:
- 5V5 “Great Battle”: Here you have the classic 5vs5 setup with lanes and jungle. The whole fun lasts about 12-18 minutes.
- 3V3 “Skirmish”: Here you fight for victory in a quick round and are done in no time. This mode lasts about 4-6 minutes.
- 5V5 “Shadow Gorge”: Here you play a randomly assigned character and only fight in the middle lane. This hybrid of the great battle and the arena lasts about 8 to 12 minutes.
Tons of heroes with cinematic music!
The selection of heroes in Arena of Valor is quite impressive. There are over 50 characters, divided into the typical MOBA roles like tank, damage dealer, and support. There are seven heroes available for free; the rest you have to unlock or purchase.
Especially cool: Among the heroes are also classic superheroes from the DC Comics universe, including famous figures like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman!
Top soundtrack! Arena of Valor looks great and sounds even better. Because star composer Hans Zimmer (Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean) is responsible for the soundtrack.
