Hearthstone
The online collectible card game Hearthstone is still one of Blizzard’s most successful games. Originally launched on PC, the amusing gameplay of virtual card battling works even better on mobile devices.
A typical Hearthstone match lasts on average only about 10 minutes, making the game ideal for all players who want to quickly play a round of cards on the go.
Warcraft as a Card Game
Magic meets Warcraft: Hearthstone is a trading card game in the style of the genre’s progenitor Magic: The Gathering. You build a deck of 30 cards from hundreds of options and compete against an opponent. To win, you must reduce your opponent’s health points to zero by attacking them with summoned creatures, using powerful artifacts, or casting spells.
The minion creatures and spells all originate from the Warcraft universe, which is also home to the well-known online role-playing game World of Warcraft. Therefore, you summon beings like succubi, orcs, worgen, gnomes, raid bosses, and the vile C’Thun. But watch out, typical Warcraft spells can ruin your day, for instance when a priest casts “Shadow Word: Death” and immediately kills your minions or a mage turns your dragon into a (nearly) useless sheep.
Battle of the Heroes
Another cool feature of Hearthstone is your heroes. Each deck is associated with a famous hero from the Warcraft universe, who represents a class from World of Warcraft. Players who enjoy brutal violence can play as the warrior Garrosh Hellscream, magic fans can choose Jaina Proudmoore, and warlocks even have the terrifying Gul’dan to select.

Your hero primarily determines which cards can be included in the deck. In addition to the neutral cards available to all heroes, there are cards that only the corresponding class can use. Therefore, only mages can turn minions into sheep, and only warriors can use the strongest weapons for powerful direct attacks. With the many heroes and cards, there are countless possibilities for different decks and strategies.
PvE content is also available now: Hearthstone is constantly being expanded and updated. There are now also special PvE missions where you go on a Monster Hunt with pre-made decks that you can further expand.
What are the costs?
Hearthstone is completely free to play and by winning games and completing certain quests, you earn gold. You use this gold to buy new card packs and thus expand your collection. However, those who spend real money can buy many cards. As a result, paying players have an advantage due to a larger selection of cards. However, the starter decks that every player receives from the beginning are quite decent on their own.
Useful: The iOS Hearthstone also uses the same BattleNet account as the PC version. For example, you can play a round on your PC in the morning and then continue on your Apple device on the way to work with the same account.
If you want to download Hearthstone for iOS, you can find it at the provided link in the App Store.
On Page Three you will find a fast-paced online action RPG in the style of Diablo.
