Fortnite: Battle Royale
The popular battle royale shooter Fortnite is also available on mobile devices. While Android users are still waiting for their version of the game, Apple users have been able to join in for a long time.
This is Battle Royale: In Fortnite, you jump off a deserted island alone or in teams of 2 or 4. There are plenty of weapons and items scattered around. Your goal is to be the last player standing. To keep it exciting and prevent anyone from hiding forever, the playing field gets smaller over the course of the game.
Simpler gameplay and lots of fun
This is how Fortnite plays on the iPhone: On the Apple smartphone, Fortnite plays differently than on PC or console. You control your character with the touchscreen. By tapping the touchscreen, you shoot at your opponents. Loot and weapons are collected by simply walking over them. The gameplay is simpler, but no less exciting.
Sounds are visible: In Fortnite, it’s especially important that you can hear your opponent. Otherwise, you won’t know from which direction you’re being shot at or that an enemy is sneaking above you. However, many mobile gamers turn off the sound or don’t have headphones ready when they want to quickly play a round on the bus or train. Therefore, in the mobile version, you’ll always see indicators at the edge of the screen when someone shoots at you or is creeping around you.
Complete crossplay with all other platforms
You can play Fortnite on Android with any other supported gaming platform. Whether on PC, consoles, Switch, or the upcoming Android version: Thanks to crossplay, you can play with everyone else. However, since consoles and especially PCs have clear advantages due to better controls, you will stay in the mobile gamer playlist by default.
Only on request can you join matchmaking with other platforms. Console or PC players cannot access the mobile playlist on their own to farm you.
No stripped-down mobile version: Fortnite on iOS is, by the way, the full Fortnite: Battle Royale that everyone else plays. It is by no means a stripped-down mobile version for phones. Your progress on the iPhone is the same as on PC or consoles.
Fair cash shop
As usual with Fortnite, you can play the game completely for free on the iPhone. In the cash shop, there’s a selection of skins and emotes every day. You can also buy a battle pass and unlock items by playing diligently. Every 10 weeks, a new season comes with a new pass and a different theme.
