Place 6: Demiguise
Another difficult-to-catch creature is the Demiguise. It can become invisible in danger, which is why its fur is also used to make invisibility cloaks. Visually, it resembles a graceful monkey with long fur and large eyes.
Character-wise, the Demiguise is very peaceful but also intelligent. Especially heartwarming is its tendency to take other creatures under its wing and care for them. We see this, for example, with Newt’s Demiguise Dougal, who cares for a young Occamy.
Place 5: Kneazle
For all cat lovers, Kneazles are likely to be among the absolute favorites. Kneazles look almost like cats, just with larger, pointier ears and a tail resembling that of a lion.
Just like our house cats, Kneazles can make excellent pets. However, they are also quite moody, and must first take a liking to “their wizard”.
A special ability of Kneazles is to recognize and track suspicious characters. A very prominent example of this is Krummbein, Hermione’s orange-red cat. Strictly speaking, Krummbein is a mixed breed. Kneazles can easily mate with regular cats.
From the beginning, Krummbein is suspicious of Ron’s rat Scabbers, who later turns out to be the traitor Peter Pettigrew. That Krummbein cannot be a normal house cat is also evident from his unusually high age.
Place 4: Bowtruckle
Although not as fluffy, the little Bowtruckles are still cute. They grow a maximum of 20 centimeters and are made of bark, twigs, and leaves. With this, they can camouflage themselves perfectly, as they live exclusively in wand-wood trees.
Bowtruckles are very shy and peaceful, as long as their habitat is not threatened.
We know the little creatures well from “Fantastic Beasts”. Often, the Bowtruckle Pickett hides in Newt’s coat and helps him out of various scrapes, for example, by picking locks.
Pickett is particularly affectionate, wanting to stay by Newt’s side and has won the hearts of many fans.
