When it comes to MMO games, good performance is usually required, as well as practical additional buttons on mice. We present some of the best models for MMORPGs, MOBAs, and the like.
This list of the best MMO mice is a personal selection by the author, who has paid attention to a versatile mix and considered reviews. At the request of readers, the Roccat Nyth has been added to the list. If you are missing a good mouse, please let us know in the comments.
Update on January 12, 2020: We have published a new list of the best gaming mice for MMO players in 2020. We recommend checking this article as the selection has changed.
Roccat Nyth
What the mouse offers: The Roccat Nyth features a total of 17 buttons, with up to 12 buttons able to be added and placed at will on the left side thanks to its modular design.
The Roccat Twin-Tech R1 laser sensor allows for resolution adjustment in 1 DPI steps up to 12,000 DPI and offers a polling rate of 1,000 Hz.

Additional features:
- Customization of RGB lighting via Roccat Swarm software
- Adjustable lift-off distance
- Macros can also be stored via onboard memory
- Buttons can be double assigned, which can be switched by pressing a button (“Easy-Shift[+]”).
- Two interchangeable side panels for the right side should allow both claw and palm grip to be comfortable
What users say: The mouse is rated with an average of 3.7 out of 5 stars on Amazon.de, primarily receiving positive feedback. The extensive functionality is particularly praised, while some reviewers occasionally criticize the handling and the sensor.
In further testing: Mein-MMO.de recently tested the Roccat Nyth and was able to recommend it:
The Nyth can easily hold its own against competitors like Razer and others. Its greatest advantage is the modular thumb area. This means that the manufacturer does not dictate how the buttons are arranged; instead, you can choose it yourself.
In combination with Easy Shift, fewer large buttons are possible, which can still perform many functions thanks to the secondary assignment. If you play many different games with different button requirements, you won’t find a better alternative. […] For this reason, the above-average price is justified. Therefore, this mouse is highly recommended.

Razer Naga Trinity
What the model offers: Razer’s Naga Trinity targets players who want to perform many actions with mouse clicks with its many optional buttons. However, it can also be adapted for other genres.

Additional features:
- The right-handed mouse with mechanical buttons offers a 5G optical sensor for up to 16,000 DPI and a polling rate of 1,000 Hz
- There are also three interchangeable side panels with different button configurations for up to 19 programmable buttons and a 4-way scroll wheel
- Thanks to Razer’s Chroma lighting, 16.8 million customizable color options are available through software
- Razer promotes the mouse as especially suitable for League of Legends, DOTA, and World of Warcraft, as well as any other MOBA or MMO.
What users say: The Razer Naga Trinity is predominantly rated positively, with handling, workmanship, and functionality often highlighted.
However, the software (registration requirement) and the scroll wheel, which some reviewers find lacking, are often criticized.
In further testing: Computerbild.de gives it a rating of 88 percent and states:
Whether you are solving problems in Solitaire, playing online shooters like “PUBG,” or executing click-heavy tasks in “DotA 2” – the Razer Naga Trinity should perform well in all scenarios.
And that’s the crux of the matter: You need to be at home in at least two of the three mentioned worlds for the purchase of the Razer Naga Trinity (RRP: 109.99 Euros) to be truly worthwhile.
To ensure everything runs smoothly, individual customization through the Razer software is a must. The time invested pays off if you can execute actions faster in games, thanks to the up to twelve additional buttons, than your opponents or quickly access programs or similar. Reduced to the technique, the gaming mouse is a worthy representative of its class.

What the mouse can do: The Corsair Scimitar Pro features 12 mechanical side buttons and an optical sensor with a variable resolution of 16,000 DPI in 1 DPI steps, as well as a polling rate of up to 1,000 Hz (500 Hz/ 250 Hz/ 125 Hz).
The side buttons are textured for better grip, and thanks to the “Key Slider” system, the button positions can be adjusted by up to 8 millimeters. The scroll wheel offers a 2-way function.

In terms of testing: Technic3D.com has given the mouse a rating of 90 percent and identified no major criticism except for the somewhat smooth surface:
The Corsair Scimitar Pro RGB is a mouse designed for MMO and MOBA gamers who want more than just two side buttons. The integrated button block with a total of twelve buttons provides great freedom in assigning and allows titles like World of Warcraft, League of Legends, or Heroes of the Storm to be controlled almost entirely via the mouse.
In addition to its control concept, the Scimitar Pro RGB also offers a high-end sensor and comprehensive RGB lighting for enough extras on the desk. Lioncast LM30 (Price-Performance Tip)
What the mouse offers: The LM30 from Lioncast features a laser sensor with adjustable 16,400 DPI and an adjustable polling rate of 1000 Hz (can be set to 500 Hz/ 250 Hz/ 125 Hz).
- A total of 18 buttons (12 side buttons) and a 2-way scroll wheel are available
- Buttons can be configured and stored in five profiles via software, as well as macros and lighting
- An adjustable weight system allows you to change the balance of the mouse
- Furthermore, the manufacturer promises an anti-sweat coating

What users say: The mouse is predominantly rated positively, especially regarding price-performance ratio, handling, and versatility, while some reviewers occasionally complain about the pressure point and ergonomics.
In terms of testing: PCWelt.de has provided a purchase recommendation based on versatility and price-performance ratio:
Especially MMO gamers will receive a well-crafted mouse with the Lioncast LM30 that fully meets their demands. The quality is right, and particularly the “Weight Tuning System” was unexpected at this price point. For a price of only 40 Euros, the LM30 is truly a price-performance hit!
However, in our opinion, the side buttons could have a sharper pressure point. As testers, we would also have liked more options, such as a definable lift-off distance in the driver or a fully customizable lighting. However, that is already criticism at a high level – for the price, you can’t go wrong.

Cooler Master MasterMouse MM830
What the model offers: While other MMO mice, such as the Corsair Scimitar Pro or the Razer Naga Trinity, focus on having many additional buttons, the MM830 comes with four.
In the new mouse from Cooler Master, the additional buttons are integrated as a directional pad (or “D-Pad”) on the left side into the thumb rest and can be freely assigned with macros thanks to onboard memory.

What makes the mouse special: In addition to the usual RGB lighting (4 zones) found in gaming mice, there is also a small OLED display on the left side, which is a rather rare feature.
The small screen has a resolution of 96 x 64 pixels and can be adjusted to display DPI values, CPU usage of the PC, etc., or simply to show arbitrary graphics.

Additional technical specifications:
- A total of 8 programmable buttons in 5 profiles are available (via software)

If you are looking for a highly customizable mouse that offers incredible control depth with a stylish touch of RGB, this mouse is worth checking out. The Cooler Master MasterMouse MM830 is truly unique.
