Many players are currently wondering if they only have one week left for the masterwork version of the new Solstice armor in Destiny 2. Because only in the next 7 days can a quest be completed during the summer event.
Guardians faced this problem: While numerous Guardians are grinding to upgrade the Solstice armor from “Void” to “Renewed” and then from “Renewed” to “Majestic”, some players have already discovered a problem that arises afterwards:
Those who want to upgrade the armor from “Majestic” to the masterwork version apparently have the chance to do so only in the next 7 days.
Here’s the reason: For one of the armor pieces, you need to play the dungeon “The Shattered Throne” in the Dreaming City – and that with a maximum of 2 players in the fireteam.
However:
- The Shattered Throne can only be played in the 3rd curse week of the Dreaming City.
- From August 6 at 7 PM to August 13 at 7 PM, this 3rd curse week runs – so from this evening for 7 days
- The next 3rd curse week won’t happen again until August 27.
- However, the “Solstice of Heroes” event ends on August 27.
This means that the upcoming Destiny 2 week is the only week during the summer event in which the 3rd curse week is active.

Bungie gives the all-clear
Here’s what Bungie says: As more and more Guardians discovered this time problem, questions about the masterwork Solstice armor piled up on social media. Bungie’s community manager dmg04 has now responded to this:
“You can make the armor masterwork after the event ends.”
This makes it clear: You can take your time with the masterwork version. You don’t have to power through in the next 7 days.
On Twitter and reddit, Guardians express relief over this news. It makes things much easier and better. It is a great relief not having to get everything done this week.
By the way: For the triumph moment, that you need to make the Solstice armor masterwork, according to user reports, you only need one Solstice armor piece as a masterwork. So, you are not dependent on the 3rd curse week for this triumph.
You need to obtain the Majestic Solstice armor before the end of the summer event if you want to have it in your possession.
