TERA: Flying in America live, Europe coming soon [Update]

TERA introduces flying and releases a lot of details about how it will work.

Update: The patch will be released in Europe on May 24 and comes with an additional free character slot and the mount Majestic Snowwave for all players. To claim the bonuses, one must log into the game at least once between May 20 and May 31.

Flying only temporarily possible

Under the auspices of En Masse, TERA released the latest patch the day before yesterday (May 17), which alongside the new class Ninja and some dungeons also brought flying into the world. The European publisher Gameforge is taking a bit longer with the release but has already published some information about the flying mounts.

Unlike many other games, the flying mounts can only fly at certain locations that are unlocked for this feature. With the update, this will initially include the city of Velika, the island of twilight, and Val Oriyn (northern Arun). It is also important that the animals cannot stay in the air forever, as flying is exhausting, so one should make sure that the flying endurance does not drop to zero when one is high up in the air.

The first flying mount is obtained in the form of a chestnut stallion for completing a quest. Additional mounts can be found in the new dungeons at level 65, but one needs a lot of luck and endurance for that, as this task involves quite a bit of farming, which could take some time.

Besides that, there are also some animals, such as the Pegasi, available for purchase in the TERA shop.

A specific date for the patch in Europe will be announced by Gameforge during the day; we will then update this post. To reduce the waiting time, internal processes have been optimized:

To ensure the best possible quality and an earlier release date, we have improved our internal translation processes for German and French. While all updates were previously translated from English, the upcoming update was translated directly from Korean for the first time.
