The Races and Their Abilities
The 7 races in TERA are not just nice decorations. Thanks to each having four special race bonuses, it actually makes a difference whether you play a bulky Aman or a horned Castanic. Furthermore, not all races are available for all classes. We have listed all the bonuses of the various races for you:
Aman
These large and strong dragon beings are particularly tough and well-suited for tanks. They have the following traits:
- The Last Aman – Increases resistance to knockdowns and staggering for 30 seconds.
- My Old Friend, Pain – Reduces damage taken by 10% when your HP drops below 30%.
- Blood of the Dragons – Increases resistance to damage-over-time effects by 10.
- Miner – Accelerates ore gathering by 15%.
Baraka
This race of giants exists only in male form. They can heal themselves and are very tough. They have the following traits:
- Source – Fully restores your HP.
- Echo of the Core – Teleports you to Allemantheia.
- No Rust – Increases resistance to stun by 10.
- Lost Techniques – Accelerates the crafting of ranged weapons by 10%.
Castanic
The horned Castanics look like nasty demons, but they are a race of passionate individualists. Their traits are particularly good for damage dealers. They have the following traits:
- Combat Sprint – Increases movement speed in combat by 30% for 3 minutes.
- Weapon Smith – Accelerates the crafting of melee weapons by 10%.
- Dirty Tricks – Increases critical hit chance by 1% when you attack the target from behind.
- Gentle Landing – Reduces fall damage by 50%.
High Elves
The pointy-eared ones are magically gifted and therefore particularly suited for classes that rely on magic usage. High Elves have the following abilities:
- Echo of the Core – Teleports you to Allemantheia.
- Fusion – Accelerates the gathering of essences by 15%.
- Spirit Resilience – Restores your MP continuously after your resurrection.
- Core Infusion – Fully restores 100% of your MP using the power of the core.
Humans
People in TERA are a tough race that enjoys fighting each other. Therefore, humans have cool PvP advantages:
- Nomadic Craftsman – Accelerates the crafting of light armor by 10%.
- Resilience of the Body – Heals you continuously after your resurrection.
- Iron Will – Reduces damage taken from other players by 10% when your HP falls below 30%.
- Agile Footwork – Reduces the probability of being knocked down by another player by 50% for 3 minutes.
Popori
These cute little animal beings are incredibly adorable. However, despite their cuddly appearance, they are quite resilient and have the following abilities:
- Soothing Presence – Monsters do not deal preventive strikes for 3 minutes.
- Sprint – Increases your movement speed outside of combat for 3 minutes.
- Botanist – Accelerates the gathering of plants by 15%.
- Kindly Current – Your swimming speed is 50% faster than that of other races.
Elin
The childlike Elin are actually the wild guardians of nature. They are always female and share the same abilities as their friends, the Popori:
- Soothing Presence – Monsters do not deal preventive strikes for 3 minutes.
- Sprint – Increases your movement speed outside of combat for 3 minutes.
- Botanist – Accelerates the gathering of plants by 15%.
- Kindly Current – Your swimming speed is 50% faster than that of other races.
As beautiful as female heroes in TERA may be, some criticize that only women are getting new classes. However, that might change soon, as there are plans for more diversity in class selection in TERA.
