In Teamfight Tactics the new patch 9.24 has been brought to the test servers. Included are 3 new champions and many balance changes that make the upcoming update the largest so far in Set 2.
What does patch 9.24 have in store for TFT? The upcoming update, which you can already test on the PBE, brings three new champions:
- Senna
- Lucian
- Amumu
Additionally, there are many balance changes to existing content, that could impact the current meta.
When will patch 9.24 be released? Since the update was only brought to the PBE on November 28, patch 9.24 is likely to shift a week out of the usual rhythm.
A release two weeks after appearing on the PBE, thus on December 11, seems most likely.
New Champions in Detail
What does the new attribute Soulbound bring? The champions Senna and Lucian introduce the new attribute “Soulbound” into the game. When two Soulbound champions are on the field and one dies, the other continues to fight as an invulnerable character until the other dies as well.
This is what Senna can do: Senna has the following attributes:
- Shadow/Soulbound
- Cost: 2 gold
- Health: 450/810/1620
- Range: 4 hexes
With her ability, Senna fires a beam that deals 50/100/150 damage to all enemies and grants allies 25/45/75 on-hit damage for 5 seconds. The beam travels in the direction of the ally who is farthest away from Senna.
This is what Lucian can do: Lucian has the following attributes:
- Light/Soulbound
- Cost: 4 gold
- Health: 550/990/1980
- Range: 3 hexes
Lucian fires 10 + (8 * attack speed per second) bullets at enemies with his ability Culling, dealing damage based on his AD and additional magic damage.
This is what Amumu can do: Amumu has the following attributes:
- Inferno/Guardian
- Cost: 5 gold
- Health: 900/1620/3240
- Range: 1 hex
The ability Curse of the Sad Mummy deals 250/500/1337 damage to enemies in a radius of 2/3/4 hexes and stuns them for 2 seconds.
Many Changes, Buffs for Shadow Champions
What balance changes are there? In a reddit thread the current balance changes on the PBE have been compiled. Much of it is still in flux and can change in the coming days and weeks.
Notably, the changes to shadows made by the new champion Senna are striking. Overall, the bonus is now greater than before, but more champions are also required. Shadow champions particularly dominated the first Invitational.
What do you think of the three new champions? Will they and the planned changes shake up the current meta?
