Rank 2 – NCIS: Tony & Ziva
NCIS: Tony & Ziva is the latest spin-off to Navy CIS and so far also the only direct continuation. At the same time, the 10 episodes deviate from the traditional Navy-CIS format: instead of treating a case in each episode, a continuous story about the lives of Tony and Ziva after their departure from Team Gibbs is told.
On IMDb, NCIS: Tony & Ziva has a score of 7.1 with currently 4,066 ratings. Whether there will only be one season remains unknown at this time. The series just started on September 4 on Paramount+ and has therefore only recently been completed.
Fun fact: After NCIS: Sydney, the adventures of Tony and Ziva are only the second NCIS series not set in the USA. The main setting here is Europe.
Rank 1 – NCIS: Origins
The highest-rated spin-off on IMDb with 7.4 stars is NCIS: Origins. The second season is currently airing in the USA. In Germany, the first season has been available since July on Joyn and Sat. 1.
The series starts in 1992 in the USA, making it a prequel to the main series. The focus is on the young Leroy Jethro Gibbs, who will later lead the team from the original. In the series, Gibbs joins the investigation team of Special Agent Mike Franks and begins to investigate for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. Mark Harmon, who plays the well-known older Gibbs from Navy CIS, returns here as the narrator in his role.
Navy CIS has been running on American TV since 2003. Accordingly, it has plenty of episodes already – over 490 in 23 seasons in the USA.
