Fans of SWTOR will have to wait a bit longer. Due to a critical bug, update 5.4 has been delayed.
Originally, the new patch 5.4 for Star Wars: The Old Republic was supposed to go live today (08/22/2017). However, the patch Crisis on Umbara has been postponed at the last minute.
As Community Manager Eric Musco announced in the official forum, the reason is a critical bug that was only noticed now. This bug can prevent individual players from completing a significant portion of the gameplay in Crisis on Umbara. For example, the intro cinematic of the new Flashpoint is not played, and it may be impossible to re-enter the instance. Ultimately, this would mean that almost all content of the patch would not be accessible to the affected players.
Thus, patch 5.4 for SWTOR will only be deployed tomorrow, on 08/23/2017, when the error has been fixed. This also means that the current PvP season will last one day longer. The last chance for all players to fight for a high rating.
As a small consolation, BioWare has decided to drastically reduce the costs of the new Galactic Stronghold (The Train from Umbara). Instead of 2 million credits, the stronghold will only cost 5,000 credits. How quickly real estate loses value (although a train is actually … never mind).
Are you still playing SWTOR and looking forward to the new patch? Or are you waiting for the announcement for possibly the next addon?
