A new update for Star Wars: The Old Republic adds a Huttball map to the MMORPG.
A new patch for Star Wars: The Old Republic has been deployed. Update 5.9.3 “Glory and Wealth” introduced the new Warzone “Skyshredder” – a fresh battlefield with the game mode Huttball.
What is Huttball about? Players are divided into two teams and must try to carry a ball over the opponent’s goal line. Players can pass the ball to each other, but – as it is in PvP – they can also kill each other and seize the ball. It’s a kind of extended “Capture the Flag” with more dynamics.
To make things more challenging and incorporate more dangerous elements, the new map features plenty of traps again. These include fire areas that are only deactivated every few seconds or acid pools that quickly eliminate players. The perfect place to shove opponents into or stun them while crossing these areas.
What else is coming? Now that PvP enthusiasts have finally received their own small update, players hope that a story update will be next. There is eager anticipation for the announcement of a new expansion, as more and more speculation suggests that SWTOR is dying. However, the still regularly released updates contradict this. Furthermore, a new, old planet has already been announced.
Cortyn says: When I bring up SWTOR in my circle of friends, it doesn’t take long for the memories of Huttball to come up. It’s one of the most interesting PvP modes I have ever played in an MMO.
Even today, I have fond memories of how satisfying it is to shove the enemy ball carrier into the fire or to hold him in the corrosive acid. Hopefully, the new map can bring back that fascination.
Have you already played the new PvP map? How do you like it?
