Soon Enshrouded will receive a massive content update. This will not only let you explore uncharted waters, but also addresses the biggest criticism so far.
What update is it? With “Wake of the Water,” Enshrouded is getting a big update with various improvements and new content. In a new Dev Update, the developers at Keen Games announced that the update is slightly delayed and will now be released on November 10, 2025.
The team needed a bit more time to meet their set quality standard. At the same time, the developers also shared new information about the content of the largest update yet for the survival game.
For they listened to the community and took the biggest criticism of the game to heart: the combat system.
Here you can see what to expect in the new update:
Wake of the Water brings more than just water
What has changed in the combat system? With Wake of the Water, extensive changes have been made to the combat balancing. The focus was primarily on the revision of the user interface, rebalancing of weapons, armor, abilities, buffs, items, regeneration, and new skills as well as abilities.
Additionally, it was particularly ensured that the combat system remains flexible and customizable to keep various options open for you. Furthermore, a completely new weapon type will be introduced with the two-handed greatsword.

What other content does the update bring? In addition to the extensive changes to the combat system and the new weapon type, Wake of the Water is all about the namesake body of water. For the first time, it will be possible to swim and dive. And what would a water mechanic be without fishing? Therefore, there will obviously be that too.
You can also utilize water for your base, for example, to water your crops or to create ponds and similar structures. In the waters themselves, fish and new species await you, and even on land, some new creatures will move in that you can interact with.
In keeping with this, there will also be new consumables and decorations. Additionally, the update brings the ability to give chests and signs your own labels.
The water itself that will be introduced with the update has another peculiarity. The so-called voxel-based world allows the water to dynamically influence the environment.
